About me

I received my appointment as a Civil Marriage Celebrant in 2008. Since that time I have been assisting people in helping them to plan their special occasion, to make it all they wish it to be; memorable, joyful and as trouble-free as it could possibly be.

Together with those couples we have planned an event, putting a stamp on its format and content that reflected their own beliefs and sentiments for that day, and those to come.

With regard to weddings in particular, the service I provide is tailored to meet your needs. It includes items such as face-to-face meetings, a wedding rehearsal if required, a draft ceremony “script” to help provide you with some ideas and inspiration, the provision of a public address system for your ceremony, and also table and chairs, if requested, for the signing of the marriage register and marriage certificate. After the wedding I will arrange for the lodgment of documents with the Registrar on your behalf.

To help you make decisions about the content of your marriage ceremony, I can provide you with samples of readings and wedding vows from the resources I have readily available. I may also be able to help with some ideas regarding incidental music before, during and after the proceedings.

There are of course certain legal requirements necessary to ensure your wedding is valid in the eyes of the law; I can make certain your ceremony meets those obligations and still contains the personal content and flavour to make your ceremony more reflective of the unique couple you are.

Before taking on the role of a Celebrant I had been working as a professional musician, for over forty years. Among the various functions I had been involved in were numerous weddings as well as quite a few naming days. This has given me a great opportunity to view these events as an “impartial observer”, seeing what works, what makes people happy and where some of the potential troublesome areas lie.

These events, Weddings, Renewals and Namings are solemn occasions that should be full of joy and happiness, and as relaxed and inclusive as they can possibly be. I would like to help you make your day such an occasion.
